Dubb Live at the Key Club

October 10, 2012

Dubb's first headlining show was everything I expected and more.

When I found out in August that LA rapper Dubb was having his first headlining show at the Key Club in Hollywood, I thought to myself, “well it’s about time.” With no doubt in my mind I knew the show would be extraordinary.

As I approached the venue at 8 there was already a line outside the door. By 9:30 the venue was packed. It was impressive how early Dubb’s fans showed up, considering the fact that his set was not until 11:30.

Backstage his mother donned him and all the other performers with a prayer before the show began. As the show went on the energy at the venue got increasingly higher. I watched as fans upfront sang every lyric to his songs and it was admirable. The crowd went ballistic when Dubb started bringing out his special guests.

Natalie Nunn from the Bad Girls Club, Jake & Papa, Cali Swag District, and Lil Playy were in attendance at the show and all shared the stage with him at different points in the night. The show was eccentric and the crowd was amazing. After a tough year, including the passing away of his father, there is no debate that Dubb deserved the show he put on. I can’t wait for the next one.
